Elegy for the Deep exists to make underwater noise pollution something people can actually hear. Through guided deep listening sessions, educational content and community advocacy, we help anyone, from first-time listeners to lifelong ocean lovers, tune in to the relationship between sound and marine life, and turn that attention into action for quieter, healthier seas.

Shipping, sonar, drilling and construction have made the ocean far louder than it was a century ago. Whales, dolphins and fish depend on sound to feed, navigate and find one another. We believe the first step toward protecting them is simply learning to listen.
